The collaboration aims to dramatically improve early career outcomes for young people in Washington, D.C., by providing a high-quality, personalized academic education. Simultaneously, ASU Local prepares you for success on professional pathways with access to career support and a network of 16,000+ ASU alumni in the area.

You’ll attend classes flexibly through ASU’s digital learning platforms while meeting in person twice a week for one-on-one success coaching, workshops on career and college success training, and quality time with your cohort to build lifelong friendships. ASU Local is located at the 31,500-square-foot ASU Barbara Barrett and Sandra Day O’Connor Washington Center. The center opened in 2018 and continues to bolster ASU’s over 15 years of presence in the nation’s capital. It’s a vibrant space that hosts classes, workshops, internships and receptions, bringing ASU students face-to-face with Washington, D.C., insiders.
The space immerses you in our community of students, coaches and success staff for connection and support. At the same time, you interact with other students and staff members from various ASU academic programs and global initiatives located at the center. These include the McCain Institute for International Leadership, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes.

ASU Local makes your bachelor’s degree experience rigorous yet cost-effective
ASU Local annual tuition and fees differ depending on your program and whether you are in or out of state. For eligible students, the ASU Local Scholarship covers 20% of your yearly tuition and costs. In addition, our team will help you through the financial aid process and ensure ASU Local is affordable for your specific situation.
