Unlocking opportunity with a 20% tuition scholarship
A world-class ASU degree should be within reach for all learners — and at ASU Local, we’re making it happen.
All full-time ASU Local students receive a 20% tuition scholarship, lowering the cost of your degree while keeping you connected to your community. Plus, there are even more ways to fund your education. About 80% of ASU students, including online learners, receive some form of financial aid.
Depending on your location and eligibility, you may also qualify for additional financial support:
- Pell Grant: A need-based federal aid that doesn’t need to be repaid, helping reduce your tuition costs.
- Washington, D.C., students can access D.C. TAG, which helps cover tuition costs.
- Yuma students can apply for Earn to Learn, a savings-matching scholarship program.
- West Hawai‘i students may be eligible for the Kamehameha Schools Scholarship, supporting Native Hawai‘ian learners.
We’re here to help you navigate your options, remove barriers and create a pathway to your future.

Scholarships and grants are types of financial awards that you can earn to reduce college costs.
You can use these awards to pay for tuition, fees, books or other college expenses, depending on the scholarship.
Scholarships are often awarded based on academic merit, but can also be given based on your background, financial need, special talents, degree program and other factors.
