A new West Hawai‘i college option for first-year and transfer students
In partnership with Kamehameha Schools (KS), ASU established a West Hawai’i site to bring high-quality bachelor’s degree options to all college-eligible students rooted in their community. The program aims to empower you to thrive, grow, and impact the places important to you from a personal and cultural perspective.
The ASU Local experience is designed to guide first-year and transfer students every step of the way through their bachelor’s degree journey. As part of ASU Local’s in-person, close-knit student community, a coach will guide and support you throughout your college journey. They will be directly responsible for your well-being and success through intentionally designed learning experiences, including one-on-one conversations, workshops and other group activities. To ensure flexibility, you will choose from 160 online majors to complete coursework anytime, anywhere, with an internet connection, to earn a highly ranked bachelor’s degree through ASU.

- Providing plenty of room for interactions with students, staff and professors from other ASU programs.
Our West Hawai‘i location features many top-ranked graduate and undergraduate programs from ASU and will serve as a hub for students to engage in internships, seminars and workshops in one of the most dynamic and beautiful local settings in the world.
Our newly-renovated space is where our community of students, coaches and staff will come together for connection and support. The space is intended for small group interactions and study sessions, with plenty of room for solo study sessions or one-on-one conversations between students and their success coach.

ASU Local makes your bachelor’s degree experience rigorous yet cost-effective
ASU Local annual tuition and fees differ depending on your program and whether you are in or out of state. For eligible students, the ASU Local Scholarship covers 20% of your yearly tuition and costs. In addition, our team will help you through the financial aid process and ensure ASU Local is affordable for your specific situation.
