Ready for an immersive college experience? ASU Local has you covered. Whether you’re seeking academic support, career guidance or work/life balance, our team offers the resources you may need. From structured academic sessions to internship opportunities and career coaching, you’ll have the right tools at your disposal to get through college and pursue a meaningful career.

Job connections

As an ASU Local student, you’ll be immersed in engaging, hands-on projects with businesses and organizations in the community, and have access to internships and jobs so you can explore and start on your career path. Beginning your freshman year, career coaches will work one-on-one with you to define your career path, create your professional network, identify useful resources and tools, offer advice on job searches and provide support and encouragement for your long-term career success. What about finding a job after college? Career and Professional Development Services will assist you with your career options and coach you in the most effective job search skills, through a range of services, programs, courses and resources.

Campus life

At ASU Local, you’ll experience the supportive environment of working with a close group of fellow students. The small-college experience brings you together with friends and supporters in a caring, tight-knit group designed to help you love your in-person college experience and meet your goals. You’ll have opportunities to get together with other students from class to discuss concepts, compare notes and share strategies. These structured sessions are led by supplemental instruction leaders and meet approximately two to three times each week.

Problem solving

You will be part of a top research university and be involved in meaningful research projects as you work to solve some of our world’s most pressing issues. Gain a deeper knowledge of your community and the world as you apply coursework to existing challenges and problems — and then explore creative ways to solve them.

Adaptive learning

Concerned about keeping up in class? No worries. Many ASU Local freshman classes offer access to an online tool that personalizes student learning, allowing you to learn at your own speed.

Study abroad

The ASU Study Abroad Office offers more than 250 programs in over 65 countries. ASU Local students can study abroad during any summer, fall or spring term, as well as participate in spring break programs.

Through study abroad, you’ll gain valuable experiences and skills that will serve you in your career and throughout your life.

Venture Devils

Do you have an idea for a product or service that could solve a problem, fill a need or enhance people’s lives? Entrepreneurship + Innovation at ASU can help you get your idea off the ground. You’re invited to apply to the ASU Venture Devils program, which provides support and resources to student entrepreneurs.

ASU Library

As an ASU Local student, you’ll have access to all of ASU Library’s resources through the library website. This includes research databases, electronic journals, e-books and other research sources. Library One Search enables you to search for books, journal articles and other materials through one easy-to-use search box.

Library Guides — research guides created by ASU librarians — provide quick access to the best resources in many subject areas. Online resources for ASU Local students will help you navigate the ASU Library to find books, articles, media and more.

Guidance at every turn from success coaches

Trying to juggle work and life in between your ASU courses can sometimes get a little chaotic. That’s where your success coach comes in. ASU Local coaches are there to support you at every turn and lead you and your peers through an immersive ASU Local experience.

Success coaches empower you to reach your goals by supporting you as you adjust to life as a new student and navigate and access all of ASU’s various resources. They’ll also provide success strategies and time management tips, connect your coursework to real-life events and work situations, and support you through building your own professional network.
